"EVERY LINE IS
A RUSH OF MY SOUL"
CLAUDIA VAN DER WILLIK
founder of her on style of authentic artworks characterized by powerful compositions, contrasting colors and a raw,
almost physical energy.
Each work of art is a snapshot of her inner movement,
created without a preconceived plan.
In her visual language she does not shy away from experimentation:
brushstrokes collide and flow, lines chop and heal
shapes appear intuitively.
"My work is not for decoration.
It's a experience, a impact.
Directly expression of what lives inside me.
Not thought out, but experienced.
Every artwork I create lives within
the space it enters.
It change the energy.
It fills the silence
It confronts provoks & pulls you in"
Walls stop being background.
Spaces start breathing differently.
Van der Willik has a strong, expressive style & fits well into the contemporary art world of this time.
Her art style has something special a combination of expression, abstraction and modern influences.
Abstract & neo-expressionist art, such as in these works, appeals to a wide audience and is appreciated in both the contemporary art scene and the commercial art market.
She ventures into the fieldof all art influences and revisits matters related to the perception that has fascinated philosophers and art historians. What interests her is the relationship between old and new. But also the appearance and that which appears and the way in which this connection allows us to understand the relationship between the self and the world. Her artworks ift the concept of all boundaries. All the techniques out there without applied rules.
The sense of accumulation along with the quality of the colors put into play an illusory and ideological vision of the world that has been shattered, as is the fate of all utopias.
There was no money for a art education in the 80's.
Her parents had there own problems.
The 80's & Pop art influences were a survivall for her.
So on the street with her friends she learned all the techniques in drawing & feelings that she could used and express
in her fashion design & music.
She spent her childhood in the streets of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
So the streets were finally her education.
From punks to rappers all belonged to her friends. She had a lot of friends with the same problems as her and meet each other
on the streets and find out who they really are as a human.
Sports , playing soccer and art were her skills, were she was really good in it.
Mostly she was with a lot of guys and drawing graffiti of playing soccer in the neighborhood .
Her open mind and positive character is what she always brings with her,
when she had a lot of fun on the streets, because at home was the situation sometimes really hard.
All these movements have been of great importance in who she is now and what she creates.
These influences are now the ingredients for a design of artwork.
Also her inspiring of Pablo Picasso , Jean Micheal Basquiat and Marlene Dumas had her interest.
So she is a real autodidact with a lot of experience.
She does not have a fixed style that she adheres to,
but feels comfortable mastering multiple techniques and creating original artworks.
There is definitely a market for this kind of artwork, and it is growing worldwide.
Abstract and neo-expressionist art, like in this work, appeals to a wide audience and is appreciated in both
the contemporary art scene and the artificial art market.
