Artist Biography
Claudia van der Willik |
Every line is a rush of my soul Claudia ventures into the field of all art influences and revisits matters related to the perception that has fascinated philosophers and art historians. What interests her is the relationship between old and new. But also the appearance and that which appears and the way in which this connection allows us to understand the relationship between the self and the world. Her artworks ift the concept of all boundaries. All the techniques out there without applied rules. Her work explores the relationship between an image and its essence, between what we see and what a work of art implies. The sense of precarious balance found in her recent paintings shows how real an image can be that seems strange at first glance. So it shows how everything next to each other can have a coherence within the same image Claudia creates artworks with the influences of the 80’s associated with the utopian outlook of that time. The sense of accumulation along with the quality of the colors put into play an illusory and ideological vision of the world that has been shattered, as is the fate of all utopias. Claudia thinks and moves on her own way. Stands for high-end art & design. Identifies herself with new & old, raw and refined with a original qualified of art this added with her own taste, experience knowledge & vision. There was no money for an art educationin the 80's. Her parents didn’t have the money. The 80's were survaivel for her. But on the street with her friends she learned all the techniques in drawing and your feelings that you could express in your fashion design & music. The 80s were a great inspiration and to express her works of art. So, with a travel case full of experience the field of art movements and techniques, she has developed her own vision of art and the world. She spent her childhood in the streets of Rotterdam. The streets was her education. From punks to rappers all belonged to her friends. All these movements have been of great importance in who she is now and what she creates. These influences are now the ingredients for a design of artwork. From hanging around the harbours to graffiti tagging in tram tunnels. They have managed to retain the feeling. She does not have a fixed style that she adheres to, but feels comfortable mastering multiple techniques and creating original artworks. My goal is to make art much more accessible to everyone. With a gallery & studio, my store will also become a social place, where my doors of the gallery will always be open. Everybody can discover my world of ART. |
